Why I Tore My Business Down and Rebuilt It from Scratch
I was watching a video the other day with Alex Hormozi talking about a conversation he had with a potential client. He said, “Listen, I can get you where you want to go, but you won’t be able to take on any new customers for the next year. We have to restructure and redevelop all the pieces you missed along the way, and that means slowing down for a bit.”
It’s funny how the universe sends you these messages at just the right time. That conversation is precisely what I feel I’ve spent the past year doing in my own business. Pressing pause, getting things in place, and restructuring so I can actually reach my goals.
Part of that was getting clear on my services, my agency, and the results we can provide. It meant figuring out the right systems, backend processes, pages, and e-mails. Everything that allows you to turn great ideas into a stable brand.
That process forced me to slow down and find clarity. Like a lot of creators and entrepreneurs, I knew some of the “right” steps: form the LLC, post consistently, sell the product. But more often than not, we either do them in the wrong order or don’t quite follow through correctly. Of course you can keep building on a shaky foundation, but the longer you do, the harder it is to fix what’s broken.
At some point, I realized I’d done a lot of the things I wanted: I’d launched digital products, sold merch, landed clients, UGC, you name it. But it was scattered. I was missing the underlying structure that helps everything work together in a smooth, cohesive way.
I remember when I started noticing all these “systems” that successful people had (similar funnels, similar setups, link-in-bio offers, email sequences, etc.), it hit me: they were all running the same play. That’s when I started digging.
I found ebooks, courses, and masterclasses that made me realize these were all real, tried and tested marketing principles, just done digitally.
Once I started to understand the bigger picture of what was possible and saw where I actually was, I knew I had to take a step back. If not for my own sake and sanity then to atleast make sure the content i was spending hours on was actually getting results.
I figured I needed a stable foundation if I really wanted to get where I knew I was headed. Yea, you can keep hustling for the quick wins, but building something that can last(possibly for generations takes patience and intention).
So, a big part of this past year has been about tearing down almost everything I was doing before and rebuilding from scratch with the knowledge I have now. And I love seeing other creators and entrepreneurs doing the same.
Now, I have a strong feeling that I can’t fail. Mainly because failure would be quitting, and quitting isn’t an option.
Once I mapped out my funnel, my products, and my offers, my content strategy(or lack thereof) suddenly made sense. I knew exactly what content to create, what freebies or lead magnets I should offer, and most importantly how I was going to get clients consistently.
That type of clarity gives you a boost of confidence. I’m not wondering if I can deliver results or whether I’m “good enough” anymore. I’ve done it. I have proof of concept. I’ve helped businesses generate six and seven figures and have more coming.
I think the biggest lesson from all this so far has been patience. On social media, success sometimes looks almost instant. But I know now that you rarely see the hard work that went into it, too, making it look like an overnight success. And if it does come overnight, it can(and usually will be gone just as fast… Shout out to the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl).
Building a stable, sustainable brand or business takes time, and that time is worth it. Now, I’m having fun again, going back to why I started creating content in the first place. I want to keep monetizing my life and living on my own terms, using content and social media as the vehicle to make that happen.
So, stay tuned. Follow along. Like, comment, subscribe, whatever you wanna do. I’m here, creating and sharing. I don’t have every step 100% figured out yet, but I know the direction. I’m excited, and I’m not stopping. This is just the beginning of what comes next.
